  • ✅ 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ✅ 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ✅ 4 large eggs
  • ✅ 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • ✅ 1 cup whole milk

Buttercream Frosting

  • ✅ 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ✅ 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ✅ 2-3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • ✅ 1 tsp vanilla extract

Decorations

  • ✅ Fondant white, pastel colors
  • ✅ Gold edible pearls or sugar beads
  • ✅ Cross cake topper
  • ✅ Edible flowers optional

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter

  • 1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans with parchment paper.
  • 2️⃣ In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • 3️⃣ In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 4️⃣ Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • 5️⃣ Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk, mixing until smooth.

Step 2: Bake the Cake

  • 6️⃣ Divide the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  • 7️⃣ Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • 8️⃣ Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 3: Make the Buttercream Frosting

  • 9️⃣ In a bowl, beat butter until creamy.
  • 🔟 Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until smooth.
  • 1️⃣1️⃣ Add heavy cream one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  • 1️⃣2️⃣ Stir in vanilla extract and mix well.

Step 4: Assemble & Frost the Cake

  • 1️⃣3️⃣ Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread an even layer of buttercream frosting.
  • 1️⃣4️⃣ Place the second cake layer on top and cover the entire cake with a thin layer of frosting (crumb coat).
  • 1️⃣5️⃣ Chill the cake for 30 minutes, then apply a final smooth layer of frosting.

Step 5: Decorate the Cake

  • 1️⃣6️⃣ Roll out white fondant and cover the cake for a smooth finish (optional).
  • 1️⃣7️⃣ Add gold edible pearls, cross toppers, or scripture designs.
  • 1️⃣8️⃣ Use a piping bag to create delicate swirls or floral patterns.
  • 1️⃣9️⃣ Refrigerate until ready to serve.
